if we can't then how can we

AS IT STANDS
one cannot imagine outside capitalism
put  another way
capitalism is the limit of thought
put another way
the gucci shades you're wearing frame the horizon
even when you're not wearing them

it has been said that we cannot create a world apart from this feudal commerce market because our language is so intertwined and incested with the ubiquity of capitalism.

we can imagine communal markets but are stuck with that dogit "I".
we can imagine fascist markets but are stuck with that pesky "WE".
what else, combinations of the two?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

when i wake, often i am overwhelmed by the sense of being in my childhood room.  the first thing i must do is place myself. the second is shake away the memory.
the sound of the highway makes placement difficult.
as does the memory.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

i used to need something for the train.  a book, a magazine, headphones. something to pass the time.  now, it is enough to stare out the window.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

a whole lifetime spent working towards writing the first line of the great American novel without ever putting pen to page.
a whole lifetime spent watching the screen in active and passive contemplation.
a whole lifetime spent hoping.
a whole lifetime of inaction.
a whole lifetime thinking you remembered a choice when none existed to begin with.

My first instinct was to press the Like button and it makes me sad.
